This is a personal journal of accountability, an examination of how God is working and what God is accomplishing. It is a journal of discovery and as in all journals, I'll be learning through the very process of writing, so please don't expect a work of art. Discover with me.

African Safari
Thanks to our hosts, T/K, for a wonderful (once in a life time) African adventure and wild game dinner. Yes, I kept the covenant: I tried three: Eland, Impala, and Crocodile...Impala was by far the best although Crocodile was not bad at all. I'll share more later, but it is late and I have much to do to get ready for tomorrow...packed and ready for church by 7:15...church at 8:00, shopping for souvenirs and lunch til 1:30, then out to Aurora by 2:30, visit the squatters' camp where most of the children come from, back to Aurora, dinner, showers and bed. Monday morning up and ready to go to breakfast by 7:15, three one hour teaching sessions per day and VBS for two hours every afternoon. Keep praying for us. There is no internet at the school, so I will not post again until next Thursday. I have been praying off and on all afternoon for you at Tucapau as you prepare for the reception for Rev. Nixon and family. I will be praying for you tomorrow as you consider your vote. I know God is leading where you are and where I am. May we glorify Him in all.

Yay, so excited that you got to do all that today. Y'all really did have an exciting day. We had a very exciting evening Jo. There were plenty of people at the gathering this evening. Plenty of good food and fellowship. I got to meet Eric and family in family life center before we ate. I knew right away he was the man. Everyone went over to the church for time of testimony and questions. Pretty well filled the church. It went great. There were lots of questions asked and he was right on target with each answer. He's our new pastor, Jo. I don't have any doubts. I think everyone liked him. Some might not have liked everything he said, but, I loved each answer. He is a very Biblical man, who loves his pulpit and will not compromise it at all. I think we have found a leader in Eric Nixon. He has a beautiful family. Sorry we didn't get to chat, but, remember that we're holding you and the team up 24/7. Love you sister and friend. I'm so excited, and I know that God is going to do great and mighty things through y'all the the days to come there in S.A. Until next time......
ReplyDeleteHey Jo and Team, we're praying that y'all have a life-changing week ahead of you. To God be the glory. Jo, we know you have already experienced some of that. Just wanted to tell you everything went wonderful at church this morning. Eric brought a dynamic message from Isaiah 6:1-8; Isaiah's obedience to the call of God. Church was packed out. When Chuck McGaha stood to bring us in conference he said that visitors and those who were't members could leave if they wished, that only members of Tucapau could vote. We sang while all the deacons went back to count the votes. They all came out together and stood on the platform. Thurman gave the count, 136 yes 7 no. I hope y'all have a great nights rest, and I'll be praying hard for you tonight as I'm up late and y'all will be getting up preparing for a busy day and week. If you see this before you have to log off, remember we're all lifting you up. To God Be The Glory, Great Things He Hath done, and will Continue to do.....
ReplyDeleteWell I so glad to hear you are eating so well. To think, I thought you'd be eating beans and rice. :) I must say it does sound as if your days are full of good hard work... with a little fun thrown in. I do have one question, did you pet the lion? Probably not. Take care JoLynn. Love you!
